MOVE

April 9, 2010

Finally, the weather has changed! Thank goodness! Here at Roberts, we have moved much of our training outdoors. That’s just one of the great things we are able to do that most gyms can’t. Getting outside changes your environment, elevates your mood and actually makes you healthier (thanks vitamin D). But what should you do when you do go outside? Or inside for that matter. It seems that we are on a blind search for healthier lives, choices, bodies, but we might not know where to start because there is so much irrelevant information out there. We are bombarded with conflicting information on nutrition or what is the best exercise routine, so we hesitate to do anything. This brings to mind a Bruce Lee quote: “Knowing is not enough, you must apply; willing is not enough, you must do.” We, the trainers and nutritionist at Roberts, can certainly help you with everything you need to know, BUT YOU MUST DO! You need to move your butt. I hate to tell you this, but you will fail in every aspect of health if you refuse to be consistent at moving. There are too many talkers and not enough walkers! Just move! Yes, we have sleds to push or pull, a great obstacle course to try, and Boot Camp every Saturday, but what do you do when you’re not here? Nothing? Just wait for your next session with Eric or Edna? To me, that just doesn’t cut it. MOVE! When not here at Roberts….MOVE. Hey how about this….want to lose weight and keep it off??? Stop eating garbage food, stop drinking alcohol, and yes that also means your precious red wine, stop with the Starbuck’s Lattes and Frappes or whatever. Go to bed before 10:30, drink plenty of water, and don’t listen to anybody who doesn’t practice what they preach, and yes that might even include a spouse. Move your butt! There is too much standing around and waiting. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. Take charge of your life. You can change. You can grow. You can accomplish your goals. I believe in you, now you need to believe in yourselves. If you need affirmation that you are great but don’t really believe, please take advantage of Edna’s Awakenings Life Coaching. Note this Sunday (below) And come join us for Boot Camp every Saturday @ 7:45……..Robert.
