Against the Grain

As I sit in my office all alone because there is 3 ft of snow outside and all my clients cancelled, I wonder what I am going to write about this week. I actually do have a list that always seems to grow much faster than my weekly blogs. I can call this one “Against The Grain” It is not about being or doing something different from the norm, it’s actually about eating. Eating NO GRAINS! Ok, I’m sure I’ve lost 95% of only a handful of clients reading this, but for the 4 or 5 people that haven’t deleted me yet…here goes.
You want to lose 50 lbs of ugly fat in about 4 months? It can be done. Of course you have to have the willpower, I’ll supply the knowledge. Quite simply eat like our prehistoric ancestors did. No biscuits, corn, potatoes, rice, tortillas, wheat, cake, cookies starches, or SUGAR of any kind! Meals would consist of meat, vegetables, and fruit.
Really for years I’ve read about the benefits of cutting out grains. For sexy athletic bodies and many more benefits such as reduced risks of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, eat like it’s 30,000 B.C.
Cereal grains changed history. With organized agriculture delivering a reliable source of calories that can be stored over the winter, humanity thrived. But these grained based foods that quickly endeared us have a downside. They’re nutritionally marginal, stressful to the body’s hormonal system, and even mildly poisonous. Wheat and other grains are unnatural foods for us. We aren’t evolved to eat them. Of course in reality this might seem radical to eat this way. Yes it is! But some people can do it, most can’t So just take into consideration what I am saying and make adjustments. Eating fewer grains goes a long way to a healthier you.
